Customer Service

Payment Options:
You may pay your water bill via cash, personal check, money order, bank draft, MasterCard, VISA or debit card. Payments are accepted during regular business hours at the BRWA office in Spindale, Spindale Town Hall and ACE Hardware in Rutherfordton.  For your convenience, afterhours night drop boxes are located at the BRWA Office in Spindale and at Spindale Town Hall.  You may also now pay your bill online with online bill pay by clicking here.

Deferred Payment Options:
Customers who have delinquent accounts or experience temporary financial hardship may make arrangements for deferred payments. At least half of the past due amount is required prior to the disconnection date, and the remainder is due within two weeks. Other arrangements will be determined on a case-by-case basis and approved by the Manager.

Billing Procedure:
Bills are sent to all customers based upon approximately 30 days of service. Bills are due and payable by the first day of each month, and are past due and delinquent on the 25th day of the month. All bills paid after this date are subject to a late charge as approved by the BRWA. Bills not paid by the last day of the month subject the customer to termination of service. No second notice will be sent to customers reminding of payments past due. Customers who fail to receive a bill in the mail are not excused from the responsibility for timely payment of all services provided.

Returned Checks:
The fee for a first time returned check is $15. The second time a check is returned, there will be a fee of $25 and you will be notified to pay the outstanding balance in cash within 7 business days. Service may be discontinued if payment is not made within the allotted time.
